This secular building, surrounded by vineyards, was the Jesuit retreat home (Society of Jesus), who lectured at Universidade de Évora [University of Évora] in the 16th and 17th centuries. With their expulsion in 1759 by order of Marquês de Pombal, the property became state property. Later, in 1776, it became an important wine press that absorbed the region’s production, and, in the 19th century, it was acquired by the Eugénio de Almeida family, undergoing renovations and extensions over time, which always respected the richness of its architecture.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]It is in this building full of history that the Wine Tourism visit begins, enjoying the unique surroundings of Quinta de Valbom. Discover the place’s memory, follow the technical evolution of wine production and end on a high note with one of the 4 tastings we have available.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”5″][vc_column offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm”][vc_single_image image=”2055″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”element_from_fade” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”5″ padding_top=”0″ padding_bottom=”0″ el_class=”page-letter-divider letter-divider-w”][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”10″ el_class=”area-02″ padding_top=”65″][vc_column][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1615821086052{border-top-width: 4px !important;padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;border-top-color: #dd3333 !important;border-top-style: solid !important;}”][vc_column_text]WINE TOURISM – VISITS AND TASTINGS:
(located in Quinta de Valbom – Estrada da Soeira)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1615820710823{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner row_type=”row” type=”full_width” text_align=”left” css_animation=””][vc_column_inner css=”.vc_custom_1615821257397{padding-top: 15px !important;padding-bottom: 15px !important;}”][vc_column_text]Visit without tasting – includes visit to the cellar.
Price: €15.00 p/person
Cartuxa – includes a visit to the cellar and a tasting of 3 wines selected by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation.
Price: € 35.00 p/person
Sto.
